Dreamforce ’26 just wrapped up in San Francisco. The keynote was led by Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff, who officially shifted the tech industry into the era of the “Agentic Enterprise.” It focused on how humans, AI agents, and external integrations can work together. With announcements like AIforce, Claudeforce, Koa, and Agentforce Coworker, Salesforce is moving beyond the traditional CRM interface and bringing its data and capabilities to you.

They also signal a shift in the skills Salesforce professionals need. Admins, developers, consultants, and freshers will need to understand AI, automation, APIs, data, security, and governance alongside their Salesforce expertise. Let us understand the important aspects the keynote focused on.

AIforce: Salesforce’s New Platform for Humans and AI Agents

AIforce is the biggest upgrade to Salesforce’s interface layer. It is live, dynamic technology that brings CRM data, business logic, and workflows wherever work happens. It transforms how users interact with enterprise software by bringing answers directly to users.

AIforce cuts down on context-switching. It means users do not need to open Salesforce and navigate through different screens to find the information. AIforce lets anyone build their own custom UI without relying on the Salesforce interface.

What is inside AIforce?

AIforce brings together several technologies and products. The AIforce package includes Claudeforce, Slackforce, Headless Toolkit, and Agentforce Coworker.

AIforce breakdown

Claudeforce

Claudeforce brings the extended partnership between Salesforce and Anthropic with 37 pre-built skills.

Claudeforce is now available in open beta, allowing admins to test and understand the platform capabilities. Customers can install it through AppExchange or Claude’s Enterprise Marketplace. Claudeforce includes built-in security, governance, and zero data retention.

Slackforce

Slackforce brings the Salesforce content and visualization into Slack. It changes the way teams interact with CRM. It allows them to access the information without switching between platforms.

Agentforce Coworker

Agentforce Coworker acts as an AI teammate in the Lightning interface. It uses the Salesforce context and helps users complete their tasks. It works within the governed data and permissions of the organization.

Headless 360

Headledd 360 is an architecture that provides builders and developers with MCPs, APIs, plug-ins, skills, and developer tools. Developers who understand APIs, MCP, authentication, data access, and Salesforce security will be better positioned to build AI-powered experiences.

Koa: Salesforce’s new CRM Reasoning Model

Salesforce introduced Koa, its first CRM reasoning model built on NVIDIA Nemotron technology. It supports long-running agents that execute multiple tasks at once. In simple terms, Koa helps agents think through a CRM task instead of just answering. For example, it can help decide the next best action in a customer support case.

Salesforce says Koa performs well on CRM tasks and reduces errors in its own tests. However, businesses should still test it with their own data, workflows, and policies before using it in real-world scenarios.

Virtual AI Agent

Salesforce is taking virtual AI agents beyond CRM screens and into everyday business workflows. Unlike traditional Salesforce automation, which follows predefined rules and steps, AI agents can now understand a goal, reason, and take action based on the situation.

How does a Virtual AI agent work?

AI Agents automate the work and can handle more complex and dynamic tasks by following a few steps:

  1. Understand the request.
  2. Access the relevant information and data from the CRM.
  3. Reason through the task and determine what happens next within permissions.
  4. Take action by updating records, triggering workflows, and completing tasks.
  5. Agents can interact with users across sales, service, support, and other everyday channels.

Salesforce backed this up with real, named agents. Just before Dreamforce, they released 7 job-ready AI agents, each built for a specific role.

  • Casey (Customer Service)
  • Paige (IT & HR Support)
  • Carter (Commerce Shopping)
  • Hunter (Outbound Sales)—still in pilot
  • Marshall (Supply Chain)
  • Piper (Inbound Pipeline Generation)
  • Fin (Customer Experience)

Salesforce says 30,000 customers are now live on Agentforce, showing that AI agents are already being used in real business environments.

However, humans still play an important role in setting goals, managing permissions, handling decisions, and reviewing agent actions. The aim is to let AI handle repetitive work while people focus on tasks that require judgment and expertise.

Zero Data Retention

Zero data retention is crucial as AI is embedded into business workflows. “While using Salesforce products, it doesn’t take your data.” It means the customer data sent to external AI models is used to generate the response, but it does not go into the models. So your personal data is not used for training under the applicable agreement.

As Marc Benioff emphasized during the keynote, “Your data is your data; it does not go into external models for training.” The trust layer combines permissions, data controls, security, and monitoring capabilities to keep AI interactions governed. This is especially important as products such as Claudeforce and Koa, bring external AI and reasoning capabilities closer to enterprise workflows.

The new upgrades and collaborations of Salesforce with growing AI technologies and platforms around the globe have made it an interesting session. With AI taking over industries, professionals seem to worry about their careers and growth in Salesforce. But don’t worry, we have got that covered too.

What This Means for Salesforce Professionals?

Salesforce knowledge is being combined with AI, automation, APIs, data, and governance. With multiple upgrades and new collaboration, a change in professional roles is definitely coming.

For Admins

Dreamforce ’26 confirms that the admin role is evolving. Admins are no longer tied to creating custom fields or page layouts, flows, or reports. They will increasingly help configure and manage AI agents.

They will focus more on understanding the data, business, rules, access, and security. Admins also need to review how users and agents access and interact with CRM data while working with tools like Slack, Claude, and Agentforce Coworker. To stay relevant, focus more on AI, permissions, data security, and governance.

For developers

Developers write code, but the development environment to build in will change. AI can help generate code, find errors, and create workflows. At the same time, developers can build applications and agent experiences using APIs, MCP, CLI tools, and Salesforce skills.

Understanding headless development, integrations, authentication, and security can make a Salesforce developer’s skill set much stronger.

For IT and Security leaders

The new upgrades represent a structural shift toward managing, securing, and governing large-scale autonomous AI deployments across the enterprise.

Salesforce Guardian acts as a safety suite, designed to help businesses govern, secure, and monitor their data and AI agents. It provides tools for agent identity management, automated data classification, and the discovery of “rogue” or unmanaged agents.

Agent Fabric is an agent control plane and orchestration framework to discover, govern, and observe agents across different platforms. It offers full transparency into data lineage and system policy violations.

For freshers

The keynote highlights several important career shifts, learning opportunities, and changing job expectations for early-career professionals entering the workforce. According to us, embracing AI tools can make their work more productive and meaningful, helping them stand out and add value in their roles.

Freshers can join a global ecosystem of 23 million Trailblazers across 90 countries to learn and build enterprise skills.
