Translation Workbench is a feature within Salesforce that empowers organizations to translate their Salesforce applications into multiple languages, making them accessible and user-friendly for a global audience. With Translation Workbench, businesses can customize labels, picklist values, and other text elements within Salesforce to match the preferred language of their users. It lets us specify languages we want to translate and simultaneously assign them to translators. It also simplifies the process of creating translations for the customizations made in the organization.

Enabling Translation Workbench in Salesforce

Enabling Translation Workbench in Salesforce is a straightforward process that can be done by following these steps:

  1. Navigate to Setup by clicking on the gear icon in the top-right corner of the Salesforce dashboard.
  2. In the Quick Find box, type Translation Language Settings and select Translation Language Settings.
  3. Click the “Enable” button to activate Translation Workbench for your Salesforce organization.
  4. You may be prompted to select the languages you want to support. Choose the desired languages and click “Save.”

Once Translation Workbench is enabled, you can start translating your Salesforce application into the selected languages using the Translation Workbench interface.

Disabling Translation Workbench in Salesforce

If, for any reason, you need to disable Translation Workbench in Salesforce, you can do so by following these steps:

  1. Navigate to Setup by clicking on the gear icon in the top-right corner of the Salesforce dashboard.
  2. In the Quick Find box, type Translation Language Settings and select Translation Language Settings.
  3. Click the “Disable” button to deactivate Translation Workbench for your Salesforce organization.
  4. Confirm your decision when prompted.

Disabling Translation Workbench will remove all translations and revert the Salesforce application to its default language settings.
