Salesforce has done it again; it has renamed Data Cloud to Data 360. This is the sixth iteration, which is meant to reflect the capabilities it will show with Agentforce 360. The new launch was also announced at Dreamforce to kick off the activities.
Salesforce Data 360 is a component of the Agentforce suite and serves as the primary unified data layer. It will give every agent inside Agentforce the context they need to work. Combining with Intelligent Context and Tableau Semantics, Data 360 will help businesses turn unstructured data and analytics into rich context and understanding for AI.

Upgrading Salesforce Data Cloud
Data 360 is now said to be more firmly integrated with Agnetforce and comes with a few updates and features. The first one is the Intelligent Context, which is claimed to evolve customer interactions and agentic workflows. Salesforce says the new upgraded Data Cloud will be able to work with data sets at different levels of cleanliness.
Besides this, Tableau Semantics will allow this new data platform to translate every piece of information in business language and make sure that everything stays consistent throughout the Customer 360 Semantic Data Model (SDM).
Why Has the Data Cloud Been Renamed?
The rename is part of the wider update in Agentforce. Data 360 now falls under the Agentforce 360 umbrella, which has four main components, including Agentforce Voice.
The voice feature is meant to deliver natural, human-like conversations that reflect your brand’s unique tone and personality. It will connect seamlessly to every part of the business that requires customer-facing interactions and ensure consistency in tone. Data 360 will ground Agentforce Voice agents while also allowing them to achieve near-human conversational flow. AI agents will be able to execute actions such as updating CRM records, triggering workflows, or calling APIs with complete auditability.
